INVITATION TO TEACHERS
(Posted January 20, 2023)
TEMBO is looking for a few volunteer teachers who would like to join us in Longido, Tanzania for three to fours weeks in October to teach at the Primary and Secondary Success Program (PASS).
TEMBO is a registered charity that supports education for girls in remote northern Tanzania through a variety of formal and informal education programs. PASS is a 10-week program that is offered to girls who have completed elementary school and are eligible to begin secondary school with the next term. The girls receive instruction in core subjects (i.e., math, science, civics, etc.) while volunteer teachers support the development of the girls’ English language skills and their study skills.
This is a highly rewarding opportunity for both the students and the teachers. Without TEMBO, many of these adolescent girls will be married, repeating the cycle of poverty that is so prevalent in this region. If you believe in change, believe in education, this is an opportunity to get involved.
Please note that this is a self-funded volunteer experience. For more information, contact us at the address below.
